Integrating Keybreeze with Desktop Search Tools

Desktop search tools are great for searching your hard drive quickly, but many of them don't have a convenient hotkey for quick access.  You can use Keybreeze to search Google Desktop, Windows Desktop Search, and Copernic.


 

For Windows Desktop Search or Windows Search:

  1. Type list as a keyword.  Then click the Letter Commands button.

  2. Add a new letter command with the name ds.  For the URL Reference, type search-ms://query=
    Leave the parameters field blank.

  3. Click the Add button.

    Example:     Press the Keybreeze hotkey and type "ds new resume"

     

For Google Desktop:

  1. Download the Google Desktop plug-in at www.keybreeze.com/plugins.
  2. Enjoy!

 

For Copernic Desktop Search:

  1. Add a keyword called copernic with the target of C:\program files\Copernic Desktop Search 2\DesktopSearch.exe
  2. Start typing a query when the Copernic window appears.
